“I am a single mother of four children. I have been crippled since birth, which has made it difficult for me to provide for my family. A philanthropist gave me ten birds, three males and seven females. I raised the birds to maturity and sold three of them for 4,000 naira each. I used the money to buy food and clothes for my children, and to buy more birds. I slaughtered one of the adult birds for family consumption.

When the female Noilers started laying eggs, I included them in my children’s meals. I also started selling the remaining eggs to my neighbors. The second batch of birds are growing well, and I am happy that I will have more eggs to sell. I am grateful to the philanthropist who gave me the birds, and I am determined to provide a better life for my children.”
