We are excited to share a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to sustainable agriculture and community empowerment across Africa. Recently, we introduced our innovative Noiler Birds to communities in Togo through targeted empowerment programs for rural women. This initiative not only aims to enhance nutrition and food security but also underscores our dedication to empowering farmers, particularly women, in the agriculture sector throughout the continent.
From July 17th to 19th, 2024, our dedicated team, led by Dr. Sreenivasa Bharath, G.M of Amo Farm, and Mr. Korede Afolabi, Head of the Noiler Business Unit, conducted comprehensive community sensitization programs across various regions in Togo. These efforts were designed to educate local residents about the economic and health benefits of raising Noiler Birds, while also providing hands-on training in effective backyard poultry farming techniques.
Communities such as Soudou, Bafilo, Niamtougou, and Tchaoudjo warmly welcomed our initiative, recognizing the potential economic opportunities that Noiler Birds presents. Participants engaged in these communities received practical training and essential resources, including Noiler birds and poultry feed, demonstrating our commitment to supporting smallholder households across Africa.
In Soudou and Bafilo, a total of 60 participants successfully completed training sessions, with 30 women benefiting from a Noiler bird starter package, each receiving 5 birds and 5kg of feed. Similarly, in Niamtougou, 54 participants, including 15 women, received a starter package of 10 birds and 10kg of feed each. In Tchaoudjo, 43 participants, including 30 women, were provided with 5 birds and 5kg of feed each during our training sessions.
The introduction of Noiler Birds aligns seamlessly with Amo Farm’s broader mission to combat protein malnutrition sustainably across Africa. Renowned for their high yield and suitability for backyard farming, Noiler Birds are poised to significantly enhance food security and nutrition across the continent.
As we move forward, we invite everyone to join us in our journey to empower communities and transform lives through sustainable agriculture. Together, we can build a brighter future for Africa’s agricultural landscape, one that is resilient, prosperous, and inclusive.
Stay tuned for more updates on our initiatives and impact as we continue to innovate and drive positive change across the continent. Together, let’s make a lasting difference in Africa’s agricultural sector.
